Texas Excellence started with family. David Salinas wanted to teach his son, D.J., that the things you want in life are earned through hard work and responsibility. D.J. had a dream of playing professional baseball, and like any young athlete, he needed equipment, gear and money for the things that came with chasing that dream. So father and son started detailing vehicles for friends and family as a side job. D.J. was only about 12 years old when he began learning the work, the discipline and the pride that came with doing a job right. In 2013, what started as a father-and-son project became Texas Excellence. The business first operated from a small private warehouse in Flour Bluff, then moved to Crescent Drive in Corpus Christi. As word spread and the customer base grew, Texas Excellence outgrew that location and moved to South Padre Island Drive in 2015. That same year marked another step forward as the company expanded beyond detailing into retail products and vehicle accessories. Over time, Texas Excellence continued growing into a one-stop destination for customers looking for detailing, window tint, paint correction, ceramic coatings, paint protection, truck accessories, suspension upgrades, wheels and tires, Bullet Liner and more. Through every stage, the heart of the business has remained the same: family, teamwork, respect, customer service and the belief that good work gets remembered. Texas Excellence has always believed that when something needs to be corrected, it should be handled quickly and professionally—and that customers should feel like they are dealing with people who genuinely care. Today, Texas Excellence is entering its next chapter. Automotive Outfitters continues to serve vehicle owners across South Texas, while Auto, Commercial & Residential Glass expands the same standard of service to vehicles, homes, businesses and construction projects. The goal has never been only to build a business. It has been to build a legacy—something the next generation can continue to grow with the same pride, work ethic and commitment that started it all.
